Axle boxes bored!
With the new improved Dial Gauge in service I was able to centre up the remaining axle boxes quite quickly.
Next job is to make a stub mandrel to fit the bearing recess so I can start machining the outside face.
I need to make the "Timken" Bearing cover much thinner, add a radius, drill 4 holes for dummy studs and engrave the B.R. TIMKEN logo, all whilst attached to he stub mandrel.
Surprising how much swarf it generated.
Pretty happy with the results, bearing is and easy fit. Outer will be retained with loctite.
